Artist Statement

I have always been interested in representing Nature and human expression.
I paint figure compositions from Imagination, often on themes of Music and Dance.
Whether working from Imagination or from Life, I love to draw and paint very freely. When working from Life, I like to observe very carefully. In the past few years, I have become more interested in the Contemporary Art and recently began working with cut cardboard. In these, I spend quite a while drawing, particularly concentrating on the contours of the forms, then decide which forms I will cut out, and finally, I paint them simply, often flatly. Here, I am combining painting with more sculptural ideas.
