Miriam Bisceglia
Artist Statement
Resume
I am a painter, print maker, and fiber artist.
When I am outside, I observe certain patterns or markings. They can be found in nature, in a stone wall, or on the back of a flatbed truck. These observations seem anthropomorphic to me. When I create art, I look into the work and I search for these same patterns. While experimenting with mixed media and a variety of techniques, I empathize with my subject matter and I find myself observing from a different place. A place that activates my senses from my own perspective. This is the realm I seek to translate.
