Artist Statement
Resume

The feedback I often receive about my work is that it is emotionally powerful, it makes one feel. I’m good with that. When one is making art, there is a letting go of time and space and ideally for me, the result of that is an energetic transmission.
I tend to wander between subject matter and mediums, specifically oils and watercolor. Subject matter can vary from land and seascapes to narrative expressive figure paintings. Sometimes I paint big, other times small. I might do a series that is consistent in size and medium, but I like the freedom of following my moods to whatever subject and surface call at any given time.
I am an internationally published artist and author. I hold a BFA and an MFA in Painting and was awarded a Fulbright Grant to study painting in Paris. I was invited by Llewellyn Worldwide Publishing to write a book on the connection between creativity and spirituality. The resulting publication is called “99 Keys to a Creative Life”.
I've been teaching art classes and workshops since 1990 privately as well as in other schools and centers, including Omega I also lead watercolor retreats to Ireland, New Mexico and Sedona. You can find more of my work at mharrisfineart.com
