Resume
My work is a painterly exploration of the wild, chaotic forms created when nature is left undisturbed. Hedgerows, brush piles, weeds, all create a lush world—filled with the accidental beauty of wild nature—that calls to me. I let the paint flow and pile up in organic ways, giving the materials the power to lead the way to an image. The two pieces, "Hedgerow Earth I and Hedgerow Earth II" take my obsession with these forms to their natural conclusion, suggesting an entire world where wild botanical forms take over the earth, filling it with undisturbed growth. As well as painting, I can be found often at the Woodstock School of Art's printmaking facility, where I create monotypes and mixed media works on similar themes.
